Everyone rushes to the store and suddenly no toilet paper or paper towels is available. Sound familiar?
Now imagine many needing ventilators at hospitals due of COVID-19 but there isn't enough to go around. This is a possibility and the problem, even if those needing ventilators is a very small percentage of those infected by the virus.
This is not the flu that can be prevented with vaccine or treated with antiviral drugs (yet), it's not a Democrat hoax trying to overthrow POTUS or the Chinese trying to destroy America. This is a global pandemic that affects (has affected) Republicans, Democrats, Chinese, Iranians and every person and nearly every country/political party on earth.
Let's stop the conspiracy theories and pre-maturely comparing a new virus to something that has been around for years and/or decades. We do not know how this will exactly play out.
Social distancing helps...tremendously.
Canceling schools and events is wise.
Moving church services online rather than keeping the status quo is a good thing.
Let's remember, all this is only temporary, not permanent. I walked alongside friends in China (from afar) through it. They made it to the other side. They lived. They survived. But, it took sacrifice by all and patience.
Life will resume but, unfortunately, loss will happen as it already has. I hope none of us experience loss that results from COVID-19 but I know it is possible.
Until this pandemic is over, remember that God is on His throne and nothing will change that reality. He's present, waiting for us to cry out to Him, to surrender to Him and to draw close to Him through Christ alone.
